QuickBooks Online Does Not Open Properly
Troubleshooting steps for when QuickBooks Online fails to load or open correctly in your browser.
Overview
If QuickBooks Online is not opening properly -- for example, the page is blank, freezes, or does not fully load -- the issue is typically related to your browser, cached data, or internet connection.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies
Stale cached files are the most common cause of loading problems. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then close and reopen the browser before trying again.
2. Try a Private/Incognito Window
Open a private or incognito browser window and navigate to QuickBooks Online. If it loads correctly in this mode, a browser extension or saved setting is likely causing the problem.
3. Disable Browser Extensions
Ad blockers, privacy extensions, and other browser add-ons can interfere with QuickBooks Online. Try disabling all extensions temporarily to see if the issue resolves.
4. Use a Supported Browser
QuickBooks Online works best on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. Make sure your browser is up to date.
5. Check Your Internet Connection
A slow or unstable connection can cause QuickBooks Online to load partially or time out. Test your connection by visiting other websites, and restart your router if needed.
6. Sign Out and Sign Back In
Sometimes a fresh login resolves session-related issues. Sign out of QuickBooks Online completely, close your browser, reopen it, and sign in again.
If the Problem Continues
If none of these steps work, try accessing QuickBooks Online from a different device or network to determine whether the issue is specific to your current setup.
