Can You Add Shipping Information to QuickBooks Online Invoices?
How to enable and use shipping fields on invoices in QuickBooks Online.
Overview
Yes, QuickBooks Online supports adding shipping information directly to invoices. This feature is not enabled by default, but once turned on, it adds several shipping-related fields to your invoice form.
How to Enable Shipping on Invoices
- Go to Settings -- Click the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
- Navigate to Sales -- Click on the Sales tab in the left sidebar.
- Open Sales Form Content -- Look for the Sales form content section.
- Enable Shipping -- Toggle the Shipping option to On.
- Save your changes -- Click Save and then Done.
Shipping Fields Added to Invoices
Once enabled, the following fields will appear on your invoices:
- Ship To -- The destination address for the shipment.
- Ship Date -- The date the order is being shipped.
- Carrier and Tracking Number -- The shipping carrier name and tracking number for the customer's reference.
- Shipping Charges -- A line for shipping costs that will be added to the invoice total.
Tips
- The Ship To address can be different from the customer's billing address, which is useful for businesses that ship to multiple locations for the same customer.
- Shipping charges are included in the invoice total and will appear on reports as part of your revenue unless you map them to a separate income account.
- If you no longer need shipping fields, you can disable them in the same settings area.
