How to download and install the QuickBooks Online app for Windows so you can access your account from your desktop.

Overview

QuickBooks Online can be accessed through any web browser, but there is also a dedicated Windows app available for users who prefer a desktop experience. The app provides quick access to your QuickBooks Online account without needing to open a browser.

How to Download the App

  1. Visit the QuickBooks apps page -- Go to the Intuit QuickBooks website and navigate to the apps or downloads section.

  2. Download the Windows app -- Look for the QuickBooks Online desktop app for Windows and click the download link.

  3. Install and sign in -- Run the installer and log in with your existing QuickBooks Online credentials.

Alternative: Microsoft Store

The QuickBooks Online app is also available through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and later. You can search for "QuickBooks Online" in the Store app and install it directly from there.

Notes

  • The Windows app requires an active QuickBooks Online subscription -- it is not a standalone product.
  • All data is stored in the cloud, so the desktop app and browser version access the same company file.
  • The app works with all QuickBooks Online subscription tiers (Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and Advanced).
