How to Clear Internet Cache in Mozilla Firefox
Step-by-step instructions for clearing your Firefox browser cache to resolve QuickBooks Online access and performance issues.
Overview
If you are experiencing issues accessing QuickBooks Online in Firefox -- such as pages not loading, login problems, or display errors -- clearing your browser cache can often resolve the problem.
How to Clear Cache in Firefox
-
Open the Firefox menu -- Click the three-line menu icon in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
-
Select History -- Click History from the menu.
-
Click "Clear Recent History" -- This opens the cache clearing dialog.
-
Set the time range -- If the option is available, select Everything from the "Time range to clear" dropdown to remove all cached data.
-
Expand the details -- If a list of checkboxes is not visible, click the down-arrow button next to Details to reveal them.
-
Check the Cache box -- Make sure the Cache option is selected. You can leave other options unchecked unless you specifically want to clear them as well.
-
Click "Clear Now" -- This removes the cached files from Firefox.
-
Restart Firefox -- Close all open Firefox windows, then reopen the browser.
-
Try QuickBooks again -- Navigate to the QuickBooks Online sign-in page and attempt to log in.
Tips
- If clearing the cache alone does not fix the issue, try also clearing cookies (but be aware this will sign you out of all websites).
- Firefox's Private Browsing mode (Ctrl+Shift+P) can help test whether cached data is the source of the problem, since private mode does not use stored cache.
