How to Allow Up to 5 Users in QuickBooks Online
Understanding QuickBooks Online subscription tiers and how to upgrade to support more users, up to 5 plus accountant seats.
Overview
The number of users you can have in QuickBooks Online depends on your subscription plan. If you currently have a plan that supports only 1 or 3 users and need up to 5, you will need to upgrade to a higher tier.

How to Upgrade
To increase your user limit, upgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription:
- Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Select Account and Settings (or Your Account).
- Navigate to the Billing & Subscription section.
- Choose to upgrade to a higher plan that supports the number of users you need.
Notes
- You do not need to purchase separate user licenses -- the user allowance is included with your subscription plan.
- Accountant users (your external accountant or bookkeeper) have their own separate seats and do not count toward your standard user limit.
- If you need more than 5 users, QuickBooks Online Advanced supports up to 25.
