Cannot Access Account in QuickBooks Online

Troubleshooting steps for resolving login and access issues with your QuickBooks Online account.

Overview

If you are unable to access your QuickBooks Online account, the issue is often caused by browser cache problems, credential errors, or account-level restrictions. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and regain access.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Clear Your Browser Cache

Cached data can cause login pages to behave unexpectedly. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try logging in again.

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear Data
  • Edge: Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services > Clear Browsing Data

2. Try a Different Browser or Incognito Mode

If clearing the cache does not help, open an incognito or private browsing window and attempt to log in. This rules out browser extensions or saved settings as the cause.

3. Verify Your Credentials

Make sure you are using the correct email address and password associated with your QuickBooks Online account. If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page to reset it.

4. Check for Account Restrictions

If your account was set up by an accountant or administrator, your access level may have been changed or revoked. Contact the account administrator to confirm your access is still active.

5. Contact Support

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, visit help.quickbooks.intuit.com/contact, select your product type, and choose the appropriate topic to find support options.
