How to Reset Your Data

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. It will look something like: https://qbo.intuit.com/c27/app/homepage
  3. Replace everything after /app/ with purgecompany, so the URL becomes: https://qbo.intuit.com/c27/app/purgecompany
  4. Press Enter to navigate to the purge page.
  5. Follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to wipe your data.

Once completed, all transactions, lists, and settings will be removed, and you can start over with a clean company file.

Important Warnings

  • This action is irreversible. Once you purge your company data, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you are certain before proceeding.
  • Back up your data first. Export any reports or data you may need before running the purge.
  • This does not cancel your subscription. Purging the data resets your company file but does not affect your QuickBooks Online billing or account status.
  • Company settings are preserved. Your company name, address, and basic settings remain after the purge -- only transactional data and lists are removed.
