Can I Delete a Name in the Business Drop Down Box in QBO Plus?

Overview

If you are using QuickBooks Online Plus and want to remove a name from the business dropdown menu, you can do so by deleting the associated location entry and optionally disabling the business label feature.

How to Delete a Location Entry

1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
2. Select Lists, then All Lists.
3. Choose Locations from the available list options.
4. Click on the location name you want to remove.
5. Click the Delete button to remove it.

How to Turn Off the Business Label

If you want to disable the business label dropdown entirely:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings (or Company Settings).
3. Navigate to the Categories section.
4. Turn off the location tracking feature.

Notes

• Deleting a location will not remove it from historical transactions where it was already used. It will only prevent it from appearing as an option going forward.
• If you have transactions assigned to the location, QuickBooks may require you to make the location inactive instead of deleting it outright.
• The location feature in QuickBooks Online Plus allows you to track income and expenses by business location or division. If you no longer need this tracking, disabling it simplifies your data entry.
